Thank you. For me, silent CCTV footage is a bit stark, and the music humanizes it, and hopefully gives comfort, whereas the vigil images are warm.

I carefully thought about including the gay angle and I deeply apologize if my conclusion was different than your own
Equality makes differences moot
Tho, some people may take offense and reject participating in solving the crime from their own prejudices
But, who can say that the intensity and outcome wasn’t motivated by a certain hatred, no matter how it started
Media initially skirted the issue and the public should know that these fears can still exist when factors merit, for me they did

honestedits…. i understand a little your position but in this case, it is a gay hate crime :family, friends, the gay community say that. and i believe it too. Watch please online :XTRA. Many hates crimes are increasing since a year in ontario (interview with a police man on a tv channel)

thank you…my heart breaks for this lovely man and his family..i don’t know them but i know goodness when i see it…it is a tragedy and we should all bow our heads in prayer for the loss of his life…

The officers comments were very notable. The video is now linked from my vigil slideshow. That interview is half way thru.
It has reinforced the understanding that hate crime does occur.
What is most important tho is to solve this crime for the family and friends and community of Chris Skinner.

notice a person walks towards the right – across the street – just after the suspect vehicle passes .. good place-marker for enhancing the right vehicle.

They will pay for it. you’ll see.

I don’t know how this could be a hate crime, unless they knew him beforehand.I don’t think he hit their car because his arm would have flailed away from his body in the video. It almost looks like he was moving toward a vehicle, maybe someone lured him promising a ride, and then they beat the crap out of him and ran him over. These aren’t ordinary people. They could be bouncers, they could be criminals.I’m surprised police haven’t released more video footage, you’d think they’d got a license plate.
October 27th, 2009 at 7:42 am
If you look at the street view on Google Maps, you can see there are a lot of cameras along Adelaide West of Bay St. There has to be more footage out there of the suspect vehicle, including ones showing license plate numbers.

October 27th, 2009 at 3:46 pm

come on you fucking queers!!!!! its time to accessorize those skinny pants with guns. Next time some some punk tries to bash you, pull out that gun and BOOM! his head should be splattered in a thousand little pieces. Wipe away the blood splatter from your face and smile because because you just controlled your own destiny. Life is unfair as it is, you don’t need to have patience with this kind of shit.

I quote Martin Luther King Jr.
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that”
October 27th, 2009 at 7:24 pm
Seems silly to label it as a hate crime when no evidence suggests it at this point… perhaps it is, perhaps it isn’t, either way it’s a shame what happened.
October 27th, 2009 at 11:17 pm
Chris (Blue),
you will always be truely missed… I still cannot believe this happened. I just dont understand how anyone could ever do this. Rest in peace my friend. In our hearts forever…xo

He didn’t dress in any flamboyant way, he didn’t walk, they wouldn’t have known he was gay just from seeing him standing there on the street. I don’t know if calling it gay-bashing is taking the investigation down the wrong direction. He might have been singled out because he looked like someone, or they saw him earlier. He looks like he might have been lured to the vehicle, maybe with a promise of a ride. Police haven’t said what was said, or if the men had accents, or their descriptions.
October 28th, 2009 at 10:46 am
The police can probably access his phone records, so they might be looking at that angle too. Sometimes they don’t say everything they have. It’s still pretty early in the investigation. I don’t think it was a case of him touching the car, and they couldn’t have known his sexual orientation just from him walking on the street. Something else was involved in this.

people don’t get killed for nothing he must have dissed someone.
October 29th, 2009 at 3:05 am
Rational people look for rational reason with this and with Michael Bryant’s actions. Both of these people were either nuts at the time, or it was cold blooded. Neither is excusable.
October 29th, 2009 at 2:14 pm
I at this point am hoping that one of the suspects comes to his sences & turns him self in to Toronto Police , For the love of the Mother & The Father ! There is going to be a break in this case , I can’t imagine all these guys are going to remain united in there hiding from the law ! Its in their best interest to come to the police befor the police come to them ,
