ductless mini split systems are made to be installed like that. still shot that final image follow the brickwork the outdoor coil is actually mounted straight. also the final image the linset is perfectly straight. i have seen hundreds of these systems mounted just like that. great installation…hanging out the window to install it isnt uncommon.

its not a window unit at all. its a mini split system. exactly the same as a big system just the tonnage is a lot smaller. these systems are made to be mounted to the side of buildings exactly like that

How not to install air conditioning? that is exactly how you install an a/c, but next time use a ladder
March 2nd, 2009 at 5:52 pm
We obviously have higher install standards in the UK. A 15m (45ft) ladder isn’t safe either.

This is just propaganda. Anyone can install A/C these days…
August 3rd, 2009 at 5:33 am
As you are incorrect I would assume your area of expertise is not air conditioning.
August 3rd, 2009 at 8:48 am
You assume correctly sir.
August 6th, 2009 at 9:32 am
Whoever has to service that A/C is going to be really screwed.
August 7th, 2009 at 6:26 am
Actually yes, many “anybodys” can. An installation like this is experienced-handyman level, and many company installers are not even that good. (Installers are not refrigeration techs, they’re installers.)
If you can do the electrics OK, about the only problem area is not getting the 4 tubing connections aligned straight. If you cross-thread the tubing connectors, then you have a mess to deal with.
I wonder why they didn’t put the unit beneath the window, instead of beside it.

NOW thats a pro at work LOL i bet it was a cheap install if it was more expensive guys would have a ladder or those sizzor type thing vehicle to lift them up there

Everyone can IF they have the knowledge and the right tools.
Otherwise the machine will break down in a year or two and work poorly in the mean time.
October 22nd, 2009 at 4:06 am
True. Good thing the DIY pre-vacced machine are slowly taking over residential installs and slowly coming into more commercial ones.
The standard of them has also improved in recent times and some nice inverter models are out.
October 22nd, 2009 at 4:47 am
Still need to vacc the connections, even if it not a big task or especially hard people do fail at that too.
Yes they have improved a great deal and they are more reliable and low energy consuming.
I wil be buying one and installing it at the end of the month.
See if I fail.:-)
